Khaberni - On Wednesday, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, received phone calls from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia Penny Wong, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, External Employment and Tourism of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Vijitha Herath, along with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mirjana Spoljaric.
Safadi discussed with Wong, Herath, and Spoljaric the serious escalation in the region, the prospects for restoring calm, protecting the region from the risk of an expanded conflict scope, and the activation of diplomacy as a means to reinforce security and stability in the region.
Safadi and Spoljaric also discussed the preparations underway for hosting a high-level conference on humanitarian action in wars, to be held in Jordan in the last quarter of this year, and cooperation between Jordan and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Foreign Ministers of Australia and Sri Lanka affirmed their solidarity with Jordan.
