Kuwait Calls Iraqi Embassy Chargé dAffaires Following Attacks by Iraqi Militant Factions

Khaberni  - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuwait, to hand him a protest note following the attacks carried out by Iraqi militant factions that targeted Kuwaiti territory on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

The Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed Kuwait's strongest condemnation of the dangerous practices that violate its sovereignty and constitute a blatant violation of international law standards, causing casualties among civilians and military personnel as well as significant material losses and damages. He emphasized that launching attacks on the State of Kuwait using Iraqi territory or any neighboring state’s territory is considered an act of aggression prosecutable under international law and contradicts the principles of territorial integrity, stressing the importance of the Republic of Iraq taking practical and concrete steps to address and stop these attacks.

He also affirmed Kuwait's sovereign right, in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, to defend its territory and vital facilities against any aggression or threat to its security, ensuring the exercise of its inherent right to self-defense in accordance with international law.
