Khaberni - A young man in Homewood, Alabama, killed his wife right after she gave birth, and then committed suicide inside Brookwood Hospital, according to police reports.
Homewood police reported that they responded to a shooting at the hospital's Women's Center and found the couple dead with gunshot wounds, with no other injuries reported.
WVTM report identified the victims: 24-year-old Precious Johnson, and her husband, 19-year-old Kenath William Terry Junior. The coroner clarified that Johnson had received multiple gunshot wounds after delivering her newborn child.
Terry's mother stated that the couple was having marital problems, but she never expected it to escalate to violence like this.
Dan Howard, President of the Alabama Hospital Association, told WBRC: "There are few places in our lives where we should feel safe, such as churches, hospitals, and homes, but sometimes we lose that sense of security. Our hospitals and healthcare providers give as much attention to safety as they do to providing high-quality care."
