Khaberni - The UAE Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that its air defenses successfully dealt with 3 ballistic missiles and detected 129 drones, intercepting 121 of them, while 8 drones fell within its territory.
The ministry stated in a statement that since the beginning of the Iranian aggression, 189 ballistic missiles had been launched towards the country, with 175 of them being destroyed, 13 falling into the sea, and one missile inside its territory.
The ministry added that it had also detected 941 Iranian drones since the beginning of the attacks, intercepting 876 drones, while 65 fell within its territory, and 8 cruise missiles were detected and destroyed.
The ministry noted that the attacks caused some collateral damage and resulted in 3 deaths from Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationalities, in addition to 78 minor injuries to nationals from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan.
The ministry confirmed that the sounds heard in various parts of the country are due to the interception of ballistic missiles by air defense systems, and the interception of drones and cruise missiles by fighters, which resulted in minor and moderate material damage in a number of civilian properties.
The Ministry of Defense strongly condemned this military targeting, considering it a blatant act of aggression and a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and international law, affirming that the state retains its full right to respond to this escalation and take all necessary measures to protect its territory, people, and residents, ensuring the preservation of its sovereignty, security, stability, and protecting its interests and national assets.
The ministry emphasized that it is fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats, taking all necessary measures to firmly counter anything that targets the security and stability of the state, affirming that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors is a top priority that cannot be compromised.
The ministry also urged the public to obtain information from official sources in the country and to avoid spreading rumors or unreliable information.
