Khaberni - Prime Minister Jafar Hassan confirmed on Wednesday that the Kingdom’s stock of essential food supplies, provisioning items, and raw materials are safe and sufficient for several months. This assurance comes despite Iran's failed attempt to damage our wheat stocks in some silos through a cyberattack targeting the temperature management system of these silos, which was efficiently handled without any damage.
At the beginning of a legislative session in the House of Representatives, Hassan pointed out that the Kingdom’s stock of various petroleum derivatives and household gas is available in adequate and safe quantities for the upcoming period.
He explained that the supply chains are functioning smoothly and the most suitable alternatives are being identified as needed, with the local market being supplied with necessary quantities in a normal manner, according to clear plans and continuous monitoring to ensure market stability and protect citizens' interests.
Hassan stated that the Kingdom's electrical power generation system is based on a thoughtful diversity in supply sources and operation options; we receive liquefied natural gas through the floating gas ship in Aqaba, alongside the readiness of generation stations to operate on alternative fuel when necessary. This flexibility has enabled us to maintain stable electricity throughout the Kingdom without interruption, and we will continue to do so, God willing, with high readiness for urgent repairs to the energy network in case of any damage - God forbid.
He added, "We face clear challenges in terms of the rising cost of electricity production; due to the interruption of a main gas source during the current phase, which we hope will not prolong, in addition to the rapidly escalating global prices of oil and gas, as a result of the Iranian regime's targeting of our brotherly Gulf states. This has deepened the crisis, but today we are in a much better position than we were in more difficult circumstances in the past, thanks to the diversity of alternatives that we have implemented in projects over the previous ten years. Our work continues to accomplish new strategic projects."
Hassan continued that this crisis affects all countries in the region, indeed, the entire world, but Jordan today is stronger, more resilient, and more prepared to overcome challenges, thanks to its wise Hashemite leadership, established institutions, valiant armed forces, vigilant security agencies, and its people united in solidarity in all circumstances.
