Washington Raising the Security Alert to Level 3 in Jordan Oman Saudi Arabia and the UAE

Khaberni - The U.S. State Department raised the security alert level to the third level on Wednesday in Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The department added in a statement that Egypt remains at the second level, while allowing non-essential U.S. employees and their families to leave Saudi Arabia due to security risks.

It also allowed non-emergency U.S. employees to leave the Sultanate of Oman.

The U.S. State Department had urged, on Monday, U.S. nationals to immediately leave 12 countries in the Middle East amid U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran.

Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, Maura Namdar, said at the time that the department urged Americans to leave Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the UAE, and Yemen.
