The Director of Military Media, Brigadier General Mustafa Al-Hayari, confirmed that Iranian missiles and drones are not just passing through and target Jordanian territory, clarifying that the statement that these missiles are transient "is a statement that defies reality".
He said that the armed forces have made significant efforts to confront missiles and drones that were targeting sites within the Kingdom, emphasizing that what occurred was a targeting of sites in various regions of the Kingdom, according to the Kingdom.
Al-Hayari confirmed that targeting sites within the Kingdom covered various provinces, clarifying that Jordan has been dealing with missiles and drones since the onset of this war that were not directed outside the Kingdom's borders, and have been handled accordingly.
He pointed out that the army will respond firmly to any attempts that threaten the security of the nation and there is a sovereign order to confront with missiles and that "we will not allow any breach of our airspace by any party", indicating that the threats will not deter the armed forces from carrying out their duties.
Al-Hayari demanded not to publish any misinformation, confirming that the relevant authorities respond immediately and deny these rumors, and will pursue anyone trying to spread false news.
He called on citizens to adhere to the guidelines issued by official entities and awareness messages urging compliance with them and to avoid filming any security incident, saying: "We do not accept any citizen harming his country."
He drew attention to the fact that since the onset of the events last Saturday, there has been a broad compliance by most Jordanians, calling for more adherence to instructions aimed at safeguarding the safety of citizens.
He noted that it is regrettable that old video clips, sometimes from other countries, were published, as well as misinformation, confirming that the competent authorities also warn of the possibility of citizens' phones being hacked through fake messages.
Al-Hayari stressed the importance of avoiding crowds or approaching potential target sites, calling on media, activists, and curious individuals to stay away from any potential site, and not to film or broadcast any material that may offend national security.
The Public Security Directorate announced that since Saturday morning until 1:00 PM Tuesday, civilian defense and police personnel dealt with 157 reports of incidents caused by falling objects and shrapnel in most provinces of the Kingdom without any new injuries.
The Directorate called on citizens to comply with the guidelines issued by the Public Security Directorate and relevant entities and not to hesitate to call the unified emergency number (911) in case of any observations.
