Khaberni - Jordan imported approximately 389,000 tablets last year with a total value of 58 million dinars, according to data conveyed by the Vision Association for Cellular Devices and Accessories Investors from Jordanian Customs Department based on certified customs invoices.
The association's president, Ahmad Alloush, stated in a press release that the average price in 2025 reached about 149 dinars per device, noting that the reason for the increase in import value despite the decrease in the number of devices compared to 2024 is due to the rise in average prices in the manufacturing countries.
He indicated that in 2024, the value of imports was 45 million dinars, with an average price of about 97 dinars per device, meaning that the number of devices then was approximately 464,000. Thus, the number of devices in 2025 was about 75,000 less, but the average price clearly increased, which raised the total bill.
Alloush noted that reading the numbers over the years shows that the market underwent natural changes in quantities. In 2023, about 310,000 devices were imported, in 2022 about 451,000 devices, in 2021 about 359,000 devices worth 49 million dinar, and in 2020 about 314,000 devices worth 38 million dinar, while in 2019 imports reached 196,000 devices worth 21 million dinar, and in 2018, 172,000 devices worth 29 million dinar.
He added that price averages in exporting countries provide a clear background for this shift. In 2025, the average price for the economic category in China was about 139 dollars, while the mid-range category was about 511 dollars, and the high-end category exceeded 960 dollars. In South Korea, the average price for the economic category was about 259 dollars, the mid-range about 542 dollars, and the high-end exceeded 1,000 dollars.
Alloush explained that these figures clarify that any shift in importing from the economic to the mid-range or high-end category will directly reflect on the average price in the local market, and thus the rise in the average price per device in Jordan to about 149 dinars in 2025 reflects an increase in the share of devices with higher specifications.
