Israel Strikes Beirut Suburb Hezbollah Launches Drones

Khaberni - Despite the Lebanese government's ban on Hezbollah's military activities on Monday, the party today Tuesday announced the launching of drones and rockets towards northern Israel.

Hezbollah stated in a release that it launched “a swarm of kamikaze drones towards radar sites and control rooms at the Ramat David Air Base in northern occupied Palestine.”
It also mentioned targeting the Meron Observation and Air Operations Base in northern Israel.

Simultaneously, the sound of alarms was heard in northern Israel, especially in Upper Galilee, according to Al Arabiya/Al Hadath correspondent.
Raids on the suburb

In response, Israel warned dozens of towns in southern Lebanon, urging residents to evacuate.

It also carried out dozens of raids on the southern suburb of Beirut including the areas of Haret Hreik and El Hadath, where black smoke clouds were seen rising from the site.
Additionally, the Al-Manar TV station belonging to Hezbollah in the southern suburb was bombed by Israel at dawn.
Ground invasion?

Meanwhile, an Al Arabiya/Al Hadath correspondent reported that Israeli military teams conducted maneuvers in anticipation of a ground invasion in Lebanon.

The Israeli army had announced yesterday that "all options are on the table" regarding carrying out a ground attack in southern Lebanon, in response to a question about whether Israel plans to expand the scope of its strikes. It confirmed that it targeted assets belonging to the "Al-Qard Al-Hasan" financial institution, which is under American sanctions for financing Hezbollah activities.
These dramatic field developments in Lebanon came after Hezbollah launched rockets towards Israel two days ago "in retaliation" for the killing of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, prompting widespread dismay and anger in Lebanon, where dozens of its southern villages remain destroyed, following the involvement of the party in the war that erupted between Hamas and Israel on October 7, 2023.

It is noteworthy that Lebanon and Israel had concluded a ceasefire agreement that came into effect in November 2024, after nearly two years of deadly confrontations, resulting in tremendous destruction in southern Lebanon as well as the southern suburb of Beirut, and severe losses among the ranks of Hezbollah.

Moreover, the Lebanese government later passed a decree to control the spread of unauthorized weapons throughout the country, and the deployment of the army in the south.
