Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Al-Safadi, discussed in phone calls with Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, the serious escalation witnessed in the region and its security, economic, and political impacts regionally and internationally.
Al-Safadi condemned the Iranian attacks on the territories of the Kingdom and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, asserting their rejection as a violation of international law and state sovereignty, and emphasizing that Jordan is taking all necessary steps to protect its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens, and affirming the Kingdom's solidarity with the Gulf countries in facing any attacks. The ministers also affirmed their countries' solidarity with Jordan in facing these developments.
Al-Safadi emphasized the importance of joint efforts to reduce escalation and activate diplomacy as a way to restore security and stability, while the Dutch minister affirmed his country's solidarity with the Kingdom, and both sides agreed to enhance friendship relations and expand cooperation in various fields and maintain joint coordination.
The calls also addressed the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, where Al-Safadi stressed the necessity of not forgetting the suffering in Gaza amidst the focus on Iran, affirming the importance of ending the humanitarian disaster in the sector and the full implementation of all clauses of US President Donald Trump's plan concerning Gaza.
Al-Safadi warned against the Israeli measures in the West Bank, including annexation attempts, as they represent a breach of international law and undermine the chances of peace, and confirmed that the continued closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and preventing worshippers from accessing it constitutes an assault on freedom of worship that requires a clear international stance to stop it.
