Data Airlines canceled 1560 flights to the Middle East today

Khaberni - Serim company, specialized in aviation data analysis, indicated in a preliminary report that airlines canceled 1560 flights to the Middle East on Monday, which is equivalent to 41% of the total scheduled flights.

The report noted that the UAE, Bahrain, and Qatar were among the most affected countries in terms of flight cancellations.

This came three days after the start of the American-Israeli attack on Iran and Tehran's response with launches towards regional countries.

Jordan

The President of the Board of Commissioners of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, Daifallah Al-Farajat, announced a decision to partially and temporarily close Jordanian airspace to all incoming, outgoing, and transit flights, in light of current regional developments and risk assessment based on international standards.

Captain Al-Farajat explained that this measure will be applied daily, starting from 6 PM until 9 AM the following day, and will remain in effect from tonight until further notice, ensuring the safety and security of civil aviation in Jordanian airspace.

UAE

The General Civil Aviation Authority announced the start of operating exceptional flights at UAE airports, aimed at the departure of stranded passengers affected by the recent regional events, according to the schedules that will be announced by the airlines for the affected passengers and relevant destinations.

The Authority urged passengers affected by the flight cancellations not to head to the airports until they have been contacted and informed of the flight details and times by the airlines, to avoid congestion and ensure smooth procedures.

The Authority appreciated the cooperation of the passengers, emphasizing that adherence to issued instructions contributes significantly to facilitating procedures and ensuring the regularity of operational movement.

Turkey

The Turkish Minister of Transport, Abdul Qadir Oral Oghlu, announced the extension of the suspension of flights to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan until Friday, March 6.

The minister mentioned on the (X) platform that "all scheduled flights to Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates have been canceled until (Tuesday in) March 3, 2026".
