Aqaba Ports Management and Operation Company Aqaba Port movement normal

Khaberni - Mohammad Al Halawi, Director of Operations and Specialized Docks at Aqaba Ports Management and Operation Company, confirmed on Monday that the movement at Aqaba Port is normal and has not been affected by the events currently taking place in the region.

Al Halawi explained to "Al Mamlaka" channel that there are currently 6 ships docked at Aqaba Port carrying various types of cargo including live animals, grains, steel, and timber.

He noted that the ships have arrived at the port according to the scheduled timetable without any delays.

He mentioned that the cargo unloading processes from the ships are proceeding with the highest safety standards.

He spoke about ships scheduled to arrive at the port in the coming days, carrying live animals, grains, and other goods.

He indicated that the ongoing events in the region and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz do not directly affect Aqaba Port, adding that most of the kingdom's imports come from Europe, Brazil, and China.

He continued, "Currently, we are activating emergency plans to deal with the ongoing events because Aqaba Port is vital and operates 24 hours a day, and it may be affected by the current war and any flying objects could fall during this period."

He referred to the existence of the main emergency committee and the field teams that are monitoring and coordinating with the security agencies.
