Khaberni - The president of the Chambers of Commerce of Amman and Jordan, and the head of the Foodstuff Traders Syndicate, Khalil Hajj Tawfiq, confirmed that the Kingdom's stock of basic and provisioning food materials and raw materials will suffice for several months.
He stated in today's Monday statement that the commercial and service sector is ready to deal with any regional developments that might reflect on the movement of trade and supply chains, explaining that importers and traders have many alternatives for importing.
Hajj Tawfiq added that the commercial chambers are now working together with unions and associations of employers as one team to monitor the ongoing events in the region and to deal with them using the private sector's expertise, in coordination and partnership with ministries, departments, and related entities.
He noted that specialized committees have been formed in several vital sectors such as shipping, navigation, customs, transportation, logistics, food security, and others to keep up with the latest developments, assess the situation, and adopt appropriate solutions, especially in the face of uncertainty regarding the duration of the conflict in the region.
Hajj Tawfiq reiterated that the private sector, in all its components, will not hesitate to fulfill its duties to serve the nation and citizens under all circumstances, in partnership with the official entities.
