Khaberni - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday that the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and members of his family is a crime that violates all standards of human morality and international law.
Putin, in a message addressed to his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian and published by the Kremlin, said "Please accept my deepest condolences on the assassination of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Ali Khamenei, and members of his family, in a flagrant violation... of all standards of human morality and international law."
Official Iranian media announced that Khamenei was killed yesterday Saturday at the age of 86 in air strikes conducted by Israel and the United States.
Putin said, "In our country, we will remember Khamenei as a great statesman who made a significant personal contribution to the development of friendly relations between Russia and Iran, elevating them to a level of comprehensive strategic partnership."
He added, "I ask you to convey my deepest sympathy and support to the family and friends of the Supreme Leader, and to the government and people of Iran as a whole."
