Apartment Conflict Ends the Life of a Bride from Port Said New Details After the Confession of the Accused

Khaberni - The investigative authorities in Egypt continue to uncover the circumstances of the demise of Fatima Khalil, a bride from Port Said, inside her marital home, while she was having breakfast with her mother at her fiancé's family home.

The investigations revealed that "Doaa," the wife of the victim's brother-in-law, confessed to committing the crime. Meanwhile, the lawyer of the victim's family submitted formal requests to the prosecution to charge both "Shahd," the daughter of the fiancé’s cousin, and her fiancé Mahmoud, pointing out the illogical nature of the accused's confession since she was present all morning of the incident.

On the other hand, "Doaa's" lawyer requested a forensic evaluation of his client to confirm any signs of physical assault, and a consultation with a psychologist to determine her mental and psychological state. Additionally, he requested an examination of the victim's clothing to ensure they were not contaminated with any external trace.

The prosecution ordered the detention of the accused for 4 days pending investigation, along with summoning witnesses and suspects to give their statements.

The investigations revealed that the primary dispute arose over the marital apartment; Mahmoud's elder brother suggested that Doaa and her husband move to a smaller apartment so that the larger apartment could remain for the bride Fatima which enraged the accused and strained the relationship.

On the day of the incident, the conflict between the two parties escalated; Fatima pushed Doaa, causing the latter to hit her head and lose consciousness. Doaa then seized the situation, grabbed the victim's shawl, and pulled it around her neck until she passed away, in a moment of emotional turmoil linked to the conflict over housing.
