Khaberni - The investigative authorities in Egypt continue to uncover the circumstances of the death of Fatima Khalil, a bride from Port Said, inside her marital home, while she was having breakfast with her mother at her fiancé’s family home.
The investigations revealed that "Doaa," the wife of the victim’s brother-in-law, confessed to committing the crime. Meanwhile, the lawyer for the victim’s family has submitted formal requests to the prosecution to charge both "Shahd," the niece of Fatima's fiancé, and her fiancé Mahmoud, pointing out the illogical nature of the defendant’s confession, as she was present throughout the morning of the incident.
On the other hand, the lawyer for "Doaa" requested a forensic medical examination of his client to ensure there are no signs of physical assault, and a consultation with a psychiatrist to determine her mental and psychological state, in addition to examining the victim’s clothes to ensure they were not contaminated with any external traces.
The prosecution ordered the detention of the accused for four days pending investigation, with the summoning of witnesses and suspects to testify.
The investigations revealed that the main dispute originated over the marital apartment; Mahmoud's elder brother suggested that Doaa and her husband move to a smaller apartment, leaving the larger one for the bride Fatima, which enraged the accused and strained the relationship.
On the day of the incident, the conflict between the two escalated; Fatima pushed Doaa, causing the latter to hit her head and lose consciousness. Doaa took advantage of the situation, grabbed the victim’s scarf and tightened it around her neck until she died, in a moment of impulse linked to the housing struggle.
