Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II chaired, today, Sunday, a meeting of the National Security Council to discuss the current regional escalation.
His Majesty listened, during the meeting, which was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, to a briefing on handling plans for events and developments that ensure the security of the Kingdom and the safety of its citizens.
The meeting included security assessments of the situation in the region, where His Majesty was briefed on the readiness of various institutions and agencies to deal with the developments.
His Majesty affirmed that Jordan would remain secure and that protecting the safety of Jordanians was a priority, emphasizing an absolute refusal to let Jordan become a battleground for any conflict.
The meeting was attended by members of the council, including Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi, Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Director of General Intelligence Major General Ahmed Hosni, Director of Public Security Major General Dr. Obaidallah Al-Maaytah, Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, and the Director of His Majesty's Office, Engineer Ala'a Batayneh.
