Khaberni - Arab and foreign accounts on social media platforms shared two video clips claiming to document recent field developments within Israel, in the context of the military escalation between Tehran and Tel Aviv. However, verification of the clips showed they are old and not related to current events.
Scene of evacuating passengers from an Israeli plane
Activists published a video showing the evacuation of passengers from an Israeli plane after it was targeted by an Iranian missile and caught fire inside one of the Israeli airports, where a state of panic was evident during the use of emergency slides and as smoke billowed from the aircraft.
It turned out after verification of the video that a version was published in July 2025 by the "ABC News" network, documenting an incident where an American Airlines flight at Denver airport in the United States aborted its take-off, which required the evacuation of passengers through emergency slides as a precautionary measure.
There is no connection of the clip to Israel or any missile targeting, and the details of the location and original posting time disprove the circulated stories.
Scene of destruction in Tel Aviv.. old
In a related context, activists posted another video claiming it was taken on 28 February of the current year, documenting the aftermath of destruction following an Iranian bombardment targeting Tel Aviv.
However, verification showed that the video is old, dating back to June 2025, and was circulated at the time in the context of previous incidents experienced by the city. The scenes matched versions published months earlier, confirming their reuse out of their temporal context.
The spread of these two clips and similar content is a recurring pattern during periods of tension, as old visual materials are recycled and reframed within contemporary narratives to increase engagement or bolster political stories.
And the escalation of joint attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran continues, while Tehran continues to launch new waves of rocket attacks towards Israel and "American bases in the Middle East".
