Khaberni - The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority disclosed the activation of operational plans to contain the repercussions of the developments in the region, ensuring that the UAE aviation sector continues to manage passenger traffic in an organized and flexible manner to contain the impact of successive changes in flight schedules, contributing to the reduction of operational impacts and ensuring the smoothness of procedures within the passenger buildings at the country's airports.
The Authority reported that the country's airports and national carriers are working integrally to manage operational movement according to the approved plans, including redirecting some flights between the country’s airports, accelerating the rescheduling operations, in addition to enhancing field coordination inside passenger buildings to deal with any potential congestion.
The Authority announced that the state will bear all costs of hosting and sustaining the affected and stranded travelers, ensuring the continuation of providing essential services during the period of operational adjustments.
In the past few hours, the country's airports and national carriers have dealt with about 20,200 travelers affected by the rescheduling of some flights, where temporary accommodation was provided, along with meals and drinks, and streamlining rebooking procedures according to the approved operational plans.
The national carriers, in coordination with the relevant authorities, handled a number of incoming and outgoing flights affected by the operational circumstances, transporting passengers to their destinations within the country, providing temporary accommodation for transit passengers, and completing the regulatory procedures according to the approved frameworks.
The Authority reported the continued coordination between airports and airlines to monitor the situation of flights and reschedule them in a way that supports the resumption of operations safely and orderly as soon as circumstances permit.
The Authority renews its invitation for travelers to follow official updates through accredited channels, and to communicate directly with the airlines to stay informed about any developments related to their flights.
