Khaberni - The head of the National Cyber Security Center, engineer Mohammad al-Samadi confirmed that the specialized technical teams managed this evening, Saturday, to thwart a cyber-attack on one of the internal links of the Jordan Media Institute's website, stating that the response was immediate.
Al-Samadi stated in remarks to the Jordan News Agency "Petra" today that the technical and cyber treatment of the hacking attempt was coordinated with the Institute's management and did not take more than a few minutes, and the impact was completely contained without any significant effect on the continuity of services or the integrity of data.
He explained that no reports of hacking attempts targeting other official websites had reached the center, confirming that the national monitoring and surveillance system operates around the clock to monitor any suspicious cyber activities and deal with them according to the best international practices and standards.
Al-Samadi also mentioned that, in light of regional developments, all national institutions and critical sectors have been instructed to elevate their cyber readiness, enhance preventative measures, ensure systems and backups are up to date, and activate business continuity and crisis management plans.
He emphasized the importance of immediate coordination with the center when suspecting any cyber incident or detecting any threat indicators, and to report through the center's accredited channels or through the designated emergency phone number (065900500), to ensure a swift response and minimize potential risks.
