The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate said that the Cybercrime unit monitors social media accounts that publish misinformation aimed at misleading the public or casting doubt on state institutions.
The spokesperson confirmed that a number of the owners of these accounts have been identified, and notices have been issued about them, while it is also monitored that some pages turn out to be publishing from outside the kingdom.
The spokesperson urged everyone to obtain information from its official sources and not to spread any videos or information before verifying them through official entities that always endeavor to publish everything of public interest, especially in light of the military escalation in the region.
