Khaberni - The US Embassy in Jordan announced the implementation of the “Stay in Safe Places” procedure for all its staff, and recommended all Americans in Jordan to follow the same procedure until further notice.
The embassy urged its nationals to stay inside their homes or in secure buildings, procure their basic necessities of food, water, and medicine, avoid gatherings, and maintain a low profile, while following local media for any updates.
It also encouraged keeping phones charged and maintaining communication with the family, and to contact the Jordanian police through the number (911) if there is any immediate danger.
The embassy pointed out the importance of registering in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive security updates, affirming the availability of assistance services through its headquarters in Amman and the announced emergency numbers.
