Passing of Dancer Kitty Voutsaki After Decades of Mysterious Disappearance

Khaberni - Death today claimed the showgirl Kitty Voutsaki at the age of 96, in her home in the Greek capital Athens, and she was one of the most prominent faces in the Egyptian cinema during the fifties and sixties of the last century.
Kitty was born in Alexandria in 1927 to a Greek family, and she spent her childhood roaming its streets and folk markets. From Egypt, she took her sense of humor and light-heartedness, learned the arts of belly dancing, and became skilled in it.

Kitty participated in about 60 films in less than two decades, becoming one of the most famous dancers on screen, with one of her most prominent roles being alongside actor Ismail Yassin in the film "Afraita Ismail Yassin"; she left a clear mark on the audience.

Her last film appearance was in "The Mind and Money" in 1965, alongside Ismail Yassin, Hassan Fayek, Tawfiq El Deken, and Madiha Kamel.

After her brilliance, she suddenly withdrew from the artistic scene, sparking many rumors about her death in the eighties of the last century.

With her real passing today, a long chapter of the story that married Egyptian art and the Greek spirit comes to a close.
