The draw takes place today  fiery confrontations expected in the Champions League

Khaberni - The Champions League draw will be held this Friday afternoon, after completing the group of teams qualified for the round of 16.

The draw will set the matches for the round of 16, quarter-final, and semi-final.

 

Time of the draw:

The draw ceremony will start at 1 PM Cairo time, 2 PM Mecca and Amman time, and 3 PM Abu Dhabi time.

The network «beIN Sports» has the rights to broadcast the ceremony, where «beIN Sports News» channel is designated to transmit the event for free via satellite, and the live broadcast can also be followed on the network's official channel on «YouTube».

 

Round of 16 match schedule

The first leg of the round of 16 is scheduled to take place on the 10th and 11th of March, while the quarter-final qualifiers will be decided in the second leg matches on the 17th and 18th of the same month.

 

Teams officially qualified to the round of 16

The first eight teams qualified directly from the league phase, joined by the teams that won the playoffs:

Directly qualified (ranked): Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Tottenham, Barcelona, Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon, Manchester City.

Qualified from the playoffs: Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Atalanta, Atlético Madrid, Newcastle, Bayer Leverkusen, Bodø/Glimt, and Galatasaray.

 

Potential matchups

According to the previously conducted path draw, each playoff-qualified team will face one of two designated teams from the top eight.

 

The first path: Clash of the Titans

In this path, football fans anticipate a potential "early final" match-up between Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Real Madrid (qualified from the playoffs) will face either Manchester City or Sporting Lisbon.

Bodø/Glimt (qualified from the playoffs) will face either Manchester City or Sporting Lisbon.

 

The second path: A potential "Catalan-Parisian" summit

This path puts Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle in tough English and Spanish tests.

Paris Saint-Germain (qualified from the playoffs) will face either Barcelona or Chelsea.

Newcastle United (qualified from the playoffs) will face either Barcelona or Chelsea.

 

The third path: Tests of strength for Liverpool and Tottenham

The two English clubs are anticipating challenging matches against the playoffs' qualifiers known for their competitiveness.

Atlético Madrid (qualified from the playoffs) will face either Liverpool or Tottenham.

Galatasaray (qualified from the playoffs) will face either Liverpool or Tottenham.

 

The fourth path: Arsenal and Bayern Munich

Arsenal and Bayern Munich are set to encounter teams that succeeded in passing through the German-Italian playoffs.

Atalanta (qualified from the playoffs) will face either Arsenal or Bayern Munich.

Bayer Leverkusen (qualified from the playoffs) will face either Arsenal or Bayern Munich.
