Khaberni - A verbal dispute between a newlywed couple in Egypt turned into a tragic incident, after the wife stabbed her husband in the chest with a knife following a disagreement over attending an iftar invitation at his family's home.

The incident, which occurred in the city of 10th of Ramadan in Sharqia Governorate, resulted in the husband, 27 years old, sustaining a serious penetrating wound. He was subsequently transported to the 10th of Ramadan University Hospital, where his health condition was described as critical and unstable.

Preliminary investigations reported that the wife (25 years old), refused to go to her mother-in-law's house to accept the iftar invitation during Ramadan, which led to a verbal dispute between them that escalated into a fight.
