Pakistan announces the death of 36 Afghan militants and two Pakistani soldiers in border clashes

Khaberni - The Pakistani Information Minister Ataullah Tarar announced the death of at least 36 militants from the Afghan Taliban in clashes on the border with Pakistan, as well as the death of two Pakistani soldiers and the injury of three others.

Tarar stated: "According to the confirmed information so far, 36 militants from the Afghan Taliban regime were killed during a Pakistani army operation, and several were injured. Two Pakistani army soldiers were martyred while defending the homeland, and three others were injured."

This escalation comes days after Pakistan carried out airstrikes last week in the Afghan provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of civilians, including women and children, according to Afghan authorities.

On Friday night, the Afghan armed forces announced that in response to the Pakistani bombardment, they started large-scale offensive military operations against Pakistani forces’ positions and facilities along the "Durand Line", the dividing line between the two countries, which portends a serious escalation in the border area.
