British Embassy in Jordan Announces New Visa Procedures

Khaberni - The British Ambassador to the Kingdom, Philip Hall, announced new updates to the mechanism for applying for UK visas, affirming that the updated procedures will apply to all applicants effective from this date.

He explained in a video published by the British Embassy in Amman on Thursday, that the application process will remain electronic as before, with the addition of a new step, which involves creating a special account on the British Visa and Immigration platform (UKVI) as soon as the applicant receives the reference number for their application.

He clarified, that if the visa application is approved, the traveller must log into their electronic account to retrieve the "Share Code," as this is a mandatory procedure that must be completed every time they intend to travel to the United Kingdom. The ambassador assured that the new system was designed to enhance security levels, benefiting both travellers and British authorities alike.

In the context of accompanying facilitations, he indicated that there will no longer be a need to place the traditional visa sticker on the passport, meaning that Jordanian citizens will not need to leave their passports at the visa application center, which will facilitate planning for upcoming trips and streamline the procedures.
