Khaberni - Israeli occupation forces arrested a journalist on Thursday evening from inside the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem governorate reported that the occupation forces arrested journalist Ahmad Jalajel from inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and took him to one of their centers.
On Wednesday evening, occupation forces arrested photojournalist Ibrahim Sanjalawi from the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, before releasing him and handing him a restraining order from the mosque for a week, subject to renewal.
The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate has condemned the escalating campaign by Israeli occupation forces targeting Palestinian journalists from Jerusalem, and the decree issued by the Minister of the Occupation Army banning the operation of four Palestinian media outlets and platforms in Jerusalem and designating them as "terrorist entities," as well as pursuing their staff through arrest, summons, and intimidation.
The syndicate affirmed that this Israeli campaign targeting Jerusalemite Palestinian journalism constitutes a blatant attack on the freedom of journalistic work and a clear violation of international laws and treaties that guarantee the protection of journalists while performing their duties. It holds the occupation authorities fully responsible for the safety of fellow journalists, urging international human rights institutions and all organizations concerned with press freedom to urgently act to stop these grave violations and provide protection for Palestinian journalists.
