Khaberni - Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired 25% of Almeria club, which participates in the Spanish second division of football, according to what was announced today, Thursday, in a new step within his investment diversification strategy.
This transaction reflects the player’s "ambition" to "engage in contributions to professional football clubs," according to a statement that did not specify the financial details of the deal.
Ronaldo acquires a share of ownership in Almeria
The ownership process was carried out through his new investment company dedicated to the sports sector, "CR7 Sports Investment," recently established to consolidate his investments in sports.
Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d'Or winner, said: "I look forward to working with the management team to support the next phase of the club’s development."
He added in a statement published by the Almeria club: "For a long time, it has been my ambition to contribute to football beyond the playing field. Almeria has a solid base and clear growth potential."
On his part, the Saudi president of the club, Mohammed Al-Kharaiji, welcomed the joining of the former Real Madrid striker, considering that he recognizes the "capabilities" inherent in the project.
He added: "We are very happy that Cristiano chose our club for investment. He is considered the best player in history, knows Spanish football well, and understands the potential we are working to build here, both at the level of the first team and the youth academy."
Ronaldo's Investments
Ronaldo, who currently plays with the Saudi Al-Nassr, continues to prepare for his future by expanding his investment portfolio in sectors he is already active in, such as hotels, health, wellness, and media.
The 41-year-old Portuguese striker is expected to participate next summer in his sixth World Cup, hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, and has previously announced that the 2026 edition will be the last in his career.
