Khaberni - The vehicle transit movement through the Zarqa Free Zone Customs last year recorded a 46% increase compared to the same period in 2024, with the total value rising to 868.688 million dinars, marking a growth of 14%.
According to the data, the total number of vehicles transiting from the Free Zone in Zarqa to external markets was 79,696 vehicles.
The Iraqi market topped the list with 45,496 vehicles, an increase of 8.5%, despite a decline in their financial value to 567.625 million dinars, down by 8%, indicating a change in the types of vehicles exported or their prices.
The Syrian market received about 15,271 vehicles from Zarqa Free Zone, growing by 4340% and valued at 122.866 million dinars, an increase of over 4200%, clearly indicating the revival of trade activities between the two countries after the opening of crossings.
The joint Jordanian-Syrian free zone also achieved significant growth, receiving about 10,927 vehicles, rising by 5775%, and valued at nearly 81.71 million dinars, registering a growth exceeding 2000%.
As for the Gulf markets, the number of vehicles heading to the UAE decreased by 4.8% to 2,405 vehicles, despite a 15.4% increase in their value to around 36.78 million dinars. Exports to Saudi Arabia decreased by 35.5% with 3,557 vehicles, and their value dropped by 32.7% to 29.92 million dinars.
