Khaberni - Abeer Nehme sparkled in «Ramadan in the City» in Tunisia, presenting a special musical evening that affirmed her deep connection with the Tunisian audience.
The sixth edition of the artistic event «Ramadan in the City», organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs in cooperation with Tunis Opera Foundation, saw a notable artistic presence at its activities held at the City of Culture in central Tunis, during the period from February 21 to March 17.
The festival offers a rich program that combines stars of Arab and international art and top Tunisian artists, in a comprehensive musical experience for lovers of authentic Tarab. Among the participants are prominent figures including Tunisian artist Ziad Gharsa, Algerian artist Cheb Mami, Lebanese artist Carole Samaha, and the Moroccan band Nass El Ghiwane.
In an exceptional musical atmosphere, Lebanese artist Abeer Nehme held a special public concert, initiated with a majestic orchestral rendition of Mansour Rahbani's piece "Summer 840", which gave the evening a refined artistic feel from the very first moment.
Abeer Nehme presented a musical program that blended her own works with masterpieces from the Arab musical heritage. She began the evening with the song "Wynak", followed by "Baadni Bhobbik" from her own repertoire, before singing "Ya Aashiqat Al Ward" by artist Zaki Nassif. She also elevated the atmosphere to spiritual realms with a poem by Al-Hallaj titled "Ya Naseem Al Reeh", then moved on to the Rahbani school, performing a collection of timeless Fairouz songs, including "Keefak Ent", "Shaif Al Bahr" and "Habbou Ba'adon".
The lively rhythms were not absent from the concert, as she performed "Aamel Nasini" and "Kolama Te'elli", leading up to songs that the Tunisian audience knows by heart such as "Bila Ma Nehs", "Ya Tera", "Bisaraaha", "Qahwa", amid great interaction from the crowd.
In exclusive statements, Abeer Nehme expressed her immense happiness to meet the Tunisian audience, emphasizing that this meeting represents a true honor for her. She stated that "music is the bridge that never breaks between peoples". She added that she made sure during the concert to present a mix of her own songs and Eastern and even Tunisian songs, expressing hope to meet again soon, especially since she had been waiting for this moment for a long time.
She affirmed that there are historical, humanitarian, cultural, and musical ties that connect her with Tunisia and its audience, emphasizing that her works carry a clear identity that totally resembles her. She mentioned she ensures that every work she presents has a genuine message and story that reaches people with elegance through melody, lyrics, and arrangement, adding that she always strives to present music that is comprehensive in terms of quality and artistic vision.
