Khaberni - An employment and training agreement was signed today, Thursday, at the Ministry of Labor for a new production branch in Al-Husseiniyah district in Ma'an Governorate for the manufacture of professional clothing and Arabic attire to employ 100 Jordanian men and women from the region in the first phase, with the number of production branches in the kingdom increasing to 37, employing approximately 10,000 Jordanian males and females.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Labor, Dr. Khaled Al-Bakkar, and the General Manager of the company, Mohammad Adwan, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Dr. Abdul Halim Dughan, the Director of the Central Employment Directorate in the Ministry, Dr. Fadi Darabsa, the Director of the Fund for Supporting Vocational and Technical Education and Training Activities and Skills Development in the Ministry, Engineer Hadeel Al-Abdallat, and the Coordinator of the Production Branches in the Southern Region, Ali Al-Khatayn.
Al-Bakkar stated that the establishment of production branches is a noble royal initiative implemented by the ministry since 2008, offering employment support to investors through the Fund for Supporting Vocational and Technical Education and Training Activities and Skills Development, explaining that the support includes covering 50% of the minimum wages for every worker, allocating 25 dinars for transportation allowance, and contributing 25 dinars monthly to the social security subscriptions for each worker.
He elaborated that the support for employment and establishment of production branches aims to localize development in the deserts, rural areas, and camps in the districts and subdistricts of the kingdom's governorates, and to enable Jordanian youth, both male and female, to obtain job opportunities close to their residences.
The minister emphasized that the key partner in establishing and expanding the production branches is the private sector, which the government is working to empower to provide more job opportunities for Jordanian youth.
In turn, the owner and general manager of the company, Mohammad Adwan, appreciated the role of the Ministry of Labor in empowering the private sector to provide job opportunities for Jordanians in the districts and subdistricts of the governorates, noting that the employment process at the factory will take place in three phases, with 100 individuals employed in the first phase.
It should be noted that since the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Labor has signed three employment agreements for three production branches in Belama district and Rehab district in Al-Mafraq Governorate, Al-Husseiniyah district in Ma'an Governorate, and establishing another branch in Bani Kinana district in Irbid Governorate, all as part of the royal initiative for production branches.
