Khaberni - Manchester United’s CEO, Omar Barada, stated that the club’s financial situation has improved thanks to an administrative transformation, despite accumulating debts close to 1.3 million pounds sterling.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported that United achieved an operating profit of 32.6 million pounds sterling in the last six months of the past year 2025, while the losses during the same period amounted to 3.9 million pounds sterling.
The report also noted that the English club’s credit facilities reached 295.7 million pounds sterling after drawing an additional 25 million pounds sterling.
It was pointed out that the total debt of Manchester United amounted to 1.29 billion pounds sterling at the end of the past year 2025, after adding accrued debts from the Glazer family's acquisition, and additional listed obligations that exceed 500 million pounds sterling, which mainly consist of deferred transfer fees.
Manchester United also paid 13.9 million pounds sterling in net financing costs compared to 37.6 million pounds sterling in the previous year 2024.
The total revenue of United during the mentioned period was 190.3 million pounds sterling, while commercial revenue decreased by 8% from 2024 to 78.5 million pounds sterling.
Conversely, the wage bill decreased by 9% to reach 75.1 million pounds sterling.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe started major austerity measures since acquiring a 29% stake in the club two years ago, leading to the elimination of 450 jobs, and the cancellation of many employee benefits, including a company-paid restaurant.
The BBC quoted sources from the English club stating that these measures have opened the door to increased investment in data-related aspects of the club.
Conversely, Manchester United did not disclose in its financial statements the amount paid for the dismissal of its former Portuguese coach, Ruben Amorim, who left after the end of the last evaluation period.
