Khaberni - Juventus defied all odds in its match against Galatasaray on Wednesday at the Allianz Stadium, but to no avail, as part of the round of 16 playoff in the Champions League.
Despite Juve's struggles to snatch the qualifying spot, the Turkish team successfully secured their advancement to the round of 16 of the continental tournament with a score of 7-5 on aggregate, after resorting to extra time when regular play ended in a 5-5 draw.
The match between Juve and their Turkish opponents saw a refereeing decision that increased the hardship for the Old Lady, yet did not dampen the players' determination to advance to the Champions League round of 16.
Juventus fell with a heavy score of 2-5 to their hosts Galatasaray last Tuesday, in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 playoff.
Juventus took the lead in tonight's encounter with a clean goal by Manuel Locatelli, which came in the 37th minute from a penalty.
Despite Juve's attempts to come back in the score, aiming to progress past the playoff stage and reach the round of 16 of the Champions League, the decision by Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić stunned the Italian team players.
The Slovenian referee decided to send off the English defender Lloyd Kelly of Juventus in the 48th minute, further increasing the Italian team's struggles in their European mission.
Despite that adversity and continuing the game with 10 players, Federico Chiesa, in the 70th minute, took it upon himself to score the second goal for Juve, giving hope to the fans of the Old Lady.
Before Weston McKennie added the second goal for the Italian team in the 82nd minute, which lit up the match, as the aggregate score then stood at 5-5.
With that tie, Galatasaray was forced to go into extra times even though they were holding the qualification ticket, but Juventus had other ideas.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray turned the table on the hosts after he scored in the 105+1 minute, receiving a critical pass from his teammate Paris Yilmaz, waking Juve up from their beautiful dream of advancing to the Champions League round of 16.
Paris Yilmaz added the second goal for Galatasaray, in the 119th minute, after receiving a decisive shot from Wilfried Singo, and netted it past Juventus' goalkeeper Mattia Perin.
