Careem Launches Seeds for Gaza Campaign in Jordan Transforming Its Identity into a Symbol of Solidarity and Action

Khaberni  -  Careem launched the "Seeds for Gaza" campaign in Jordan, a community donation campaign aimed at supporting humanitarian relief efforts on the ground and contributing to the reconstruction in Gaza, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan.

Through the "Seeds for Gaza" campaign, Careem is transforming its visual identity into a clear symbol of solidarity, incorporating watermelon seeds directly into its logo across all platforms, as a public expression of support coupled with practical steps.

The campaign is based on an idea inspired by the Arabic language, where a single dot can change the meaning of a word. The campaign reimagined these dots in the form of watermelon seeds, a known symbol of resilience and Palestinian identity. These seeds transcend being a visual element, reflecting meanings of continuity, hope, and collective commitment to rebuilding life on the ground.

Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and Co-founder of Careem, said: "At Careem, our aim is not just a campaign, but a community responsibility that makes a difference. The 'Seeds for Gaza' campaign reflects our deep belief that real change is built through continuous daily actions. When communities come together, from customers and partners to brands, even the smallest donations can contribute to supporting human dignity, relief efforts, and inspiring hope for the future."

Farah Odeh, General Manager of Careem in Jordan, said: "In Jordan, we've always felt the strength of collective action, especially during the month of Ramadan. The 'Seeds for Gaza' campaign unites our customers, partners, and wider community under a common goal. Whether through a simple donation added to an order, or by purchasing a campaign product, every contribution is meaningful and helps deliver support to families in Gaza."

The "Seeds for Gaza" campaign is designed to be an open campaign for anyone who stands in solidarity with Gaza, inviting institutions across the region to participate by adopting the campaign's visual identity and supporting its participation with donations that contribute to relief efforts on the ground.

Through the Careem app in Jordan, customers can support the campaign in various ways. The "Donations" platform within the app allows direct donations with simple steps to trusted humanitarian partners working on the ground in Gaza. On Careem Shops, customers can also support the "Seeds for Gaza" campaign by shopping through the dedicated store featuring the "Originally Me" collection by Jordanian Palestinian artist Zein, where 100% of the proceeds go to support relief efforts in Gaza. They can also buy olive oils infused with exclusive Ramadan flavors from "Oliva Oils," with 15% of total revenues directly supporting relief efforts in Gaza. Additionally, more than 200 partner restaurants across the kingdom participate in the campaign, making it easy for customers to donate when completing their orders through the app.

In addition to donations, Careem launched the "Seeds for Gaza" line with an open use license in both Arabic and English, allowing individuals and brands to turn words into solidarity messages by incorporating watermelon seeds into letters. The campaign also includes the "Seeds in Your Name" tool, enabling individuals to insert seeds into their names as a personal commitment to support Gaza, sharing that across social media platforms.

The "Seeds for Gaza" campaign extends Careem's commitment to empower community impact through its platform. In 2025, Careem facilitated donations exceeding 700,000 US dollars across the region, supporting emergency relief, education, and community projects.

The "Seeds for Gaza" campaign is now available across Careem platforms in Jordan. Customers, partners, and institutions can participate via the Careem app for donations, planting seeds in their names, and supporting ongoing humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
