Khaberni - The Director of Customs of the Free Zone in Zarqa, Colonel Customs Rakad Al-Essa, said on Wednesday that the service of inquiring about internationally wanted vehicles, in cooperation with Interpol, via the vehicle platform launched by the Customs Department, has shifted from paper-based to electronic.
Al-Essa explained that the number of transactions completed since the beginning of this year has exceeded 12,000 transactions, highlighting the role of digital transformation in customs services in accelerating the processing of transactions, which positively reflects on traders and investors.
The head of the Interpol branch in the Free Zone in Zarqa, Captain Salim Al-Zawahra, during his talk, mentioned that the Director of Public Security directed to cooperate with the Customs Department and the relevant authorities to convert the service to an electronic system, with the aim of speeding up transaction procedures and issuing approvals without the need to refer to the Interpol department by stakeholders, and to enhance the experience of investors and reviewers.
Al-Zawahra added that the Interpol branch in "Free Zarqa" completed more than 170,000 transactions last year, confirming that the electronic inquiry service will enable traders and investors to complete their transactions faster.
