Khaberni - American content creator Jimmy Donaldson, known as "MrBeast," has brought global charitable work into focus again, after he posted a new video that documents the construction and renovation of 10 schools in several countries around the world, including Ghana, India, Ecuador, and the United States, in a move that received widespread online engagement.
The video he posted on his YouTube channel, titled "I Built Ten Schools Around the World," provides a detailed visual narration of the project's implementation stages, starting from demolishing a school building he described as "dangerous and unsafe" in Ghana, to completely rebuilding it, alongside drilling a well to provide water for students and the local community.
Free meals until 2030
In another site in Ghana, the intervention was not limited to restoration, but also included upgrading the existing building and constructing two fully equipped new buildings, as well as building accommodations for the teachers, after two of them revealed that a significant part of their salaries was being drained by daily travel costs.
Donaldson announced that the school complex would receive free lunch meals until 2030, noting that his team had already spent over half a million dollars on the Ghana project, with expectations of exceeding a total expenditure of one million dollars by the end of the year, aiming to develop the school and the surrounding community and improve conditions for teachers and students.
A new building and a school bus in India
In India, specifically in Maharashtra, MrBeast built a new school building, and provided a school bus to decrease the daily travel time for students.
The video highlighted that attendance rates had increased by approximately 10% since the meal program was introduced, indicating a direct impact of the initiative in supporting the educational process.
A sustainable legacy beyond content creation
The new charitable work achieved over 33 million views in just two days, sparking a wave of comments praising the initiative, as some followers observed that what he offers transcends the limits of "content creation" to building a sustainable legacy in the lives of thousands of children.
MrBeast, who also hosts "Beast Games" on Amazon Prime, is known for his initiatives that blend entertainment production with humanitarian work, making him one of the prominent new models for the impact of the content creators' economy on global development issues.
