Khaberni - Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, announced the selection of the late Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary, the global Quranic figure for the 28th edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award.
He stated in a post on his (X) account: "Dubai International Holy Quran Award.. 28 years of serving the Book of Allah and honoring memorizers and reciters, and those who served the Quran.. Today we announce the selection of a great Islamic figure to be honored as a global Quranic figure, Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary.. one of the icons of recitation in our modern era.. the first to record a complete Quran in recital.. and one of the most widespread readers from the East to the West.. may God have mercy on him and may this be in the balance of his good deeds."
He added: "This year, as part of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, we selected six Quranic voices from among our elite reciters around the world competing for the title of the most beautiful voice … voices that make hearts humble.. and we open the voting to the public to be a partner in choosing the most beautiful Quranic voice for the year 2026 .. to honor them on March 3 in a ceremony celebrating the Quran and its people".
