Khaberni - Egyptian security forces arrested a young man who, investigations indicated, had stabbed a girl to death for rejecting his romantic advances.
The young man confessed in front of the investigative authorities in Qalyubia governorate to killing a girl in Khosoos city, after she rejected his proposal, despite previously applying for her hand in marriage which her father tentatively accepted by agreeing to meet him, before her family informed him of her refusal to proceed with the marriage.
The security forces arrested the suspect after he tried to flee following the commission of the crime, where he confessed to having tracked the movements of the victim, waited for her outside her home, then stabbed her with a knife as soon as she appeared.
The public prosecutor ordered the detention of the suspect for four days pending further investigations, while the competent investigative authorities began examining the crime scene and collecting evidence.
It is noted that the girl was known in her community for her good conduct and behavior, as per testimonies from her friends and acquaintances, who expressed their shock at the incident, calling for the enforcement of the law and the punishment of the perpetrator.
