Khaberni - The Catalan newspaper "Sport" revealed on Tuesday that Barcelona has included the Egyptian star Omar Marmoush in the list of players it wants to sign in the upcoming summer transfers to strengthen the attack line.
According to the report published by the newspaper on its website, the sports management of the Catalan club led by Deco has agreed with coach Hansi Flick on the positions that need to be strengthened for the next season, and one of the strategic signings, and perhaps the most important, is the deal for a bona fide striker.
Barcelona considers the Argentine striker Julian Alvarez, a player at Atletico Madrid, as a dream candidate, but the club knows the deal would be very complicated. Therefore, there are alternatives on the list, one of them, who is very popular, is Omar Marmoush, a striker at Manchester City, whom the club believes would integrate perfectly into Hansi Flick's system.
Barcelona believes it can handle a high economic operation, but is not prepared to pay exorbitant prices, which might be the case with Alvarez, whose price might reach 150 million euros, a figure the Catalan team will not approach.
"Sport" increased in its report: Barcelona has been following striker Marmoush during his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, and he was one of the options in case of Lewandowski's departure after the third year of his contract, but the Egyptian signed in January 2025 with Manchester City for 75 million euros.
The Catalan newspaper confirmed that Marmoush is loved by Barcelona and also by Flick, who has very good sports and professional reports about the Egyptian during his time in the German league. The club believes he fits the profile of a striker who has movement, tactics, cohesive football, and the goal he is aiming for. He is not a static player in the position (9) and can play, if necessary, in all offensive positions.
"Sport" added: Currently, Barcelona is fully aware of Marmoush's situation and is ready in case the player requests to leave the English club next summer. He is not the priority but could become one should the Alvarez option fall through.
