Egypt Yasser and Ramez Jalal Sue Ahmed Maher

Khaberni - The Egyptian artists Yasser Jalal and Ramez Jalal have filed a lawsuit against artist Ahmed Maher, accusing him of insulting the family of the late director Jalal Tawfiq.

The office of Ashraf Abdel Aziz, Attorney at the Court of Cassation, acting as the agent for the artists, clarified in an official statement that his clients are closely following the investigations conducted by the Actors' Guild under the leadership of Dr. Ashraf Zaki, and the results it will yield, as a preliminary to taking the necessary legal actions against Ahmed Maher.

The statement emphasized that the accountability will also include everyone who filmed, published, or republished the offensive video.

For its part, the Actors' Guild, led by artist Ashraf Zaki, announced the opening of an urgent investigation with artist Ahmed Maher, following the circulation of a video containing insults directed at artist Ramez Jalal and his deceased father.

The Guild issued an official statement apologizing to the family of the late director Jalal Tawfiq and confirmed the immediate referral of the matter to investigation.

Maher appeared in a video, during which he responded to a question about Ramez Jalal's pranks and in it he cursed the artist.
