Khaberni - The security services in Oran province, West Algeria, reported that they have managed to arrest suspects involved in assaulting a person using bladed weapons and stealing a quantity of jewelry.
The Search and Intervention Squad of the Oran Security Department added, "Following the circulation of video clips on social media, which document a group of thieves assaulting a person with bladed weapons and stealing a quantity of jewelry, the suspects were arrested."
They explained that "the Search and Intervention Squad of the Oran Security Department initiated field investigations and analyzed video surveillance footage from the provincial video monitoring center, where they managed to identify the vehicle used in the escape, identify the suspects and their destination, leading to the investigators from the service arresting them sequentially."
They noted that "the operation resulted in the recovery of two vehicles used in the robbery, in addition to a motorcycle that was burnt by the suspects to erase traces."
They also "recovered a quantity of the stolen jewelry, and a sum of money from the robbery proceeds in the national currency amounting to 24 million centimes, and another in foreign currency amounting to 330 euros."
The security services confirmed that "upon completion of the procedures, the suspects were presented before the public prosecutor at Flaws Court."
