Khaberni - Media reports reveal the possibility of permanently excluding Mexico from hosting the 2026 World Cup, following an unprecedented wave of violence across various Mexican cities.
Topskills Sports UK stated on X: "FIFA is seriously considering excluding Mexico from organizing the 2026 World Cup due to continuous violence by drug gangs."
It added: "Mexican states are currently facing violent attacks by the powerful 'Jalisco New Generation' cartel."
It continued: "If the exclusion decision is announced, Mexico will lose all hosting rights, and the tournament will be held entirely in the United States and Canada, an unprecedented decision in football history."
Mexico faces the risk of losing the right to host a crucial World Cup qualifying match next month, amidst the security disturbances currently hitting broad parts of the country.
Reports indicate that FIFA's emergency committee has already started evaluating the risks, placing the security of the sports delegations as a top priority.
If the instability continues, it is expected that the match will be moved to an alternative city outside Mexico, to avoid any crises that could affect the global qualifying schedule.
