Khaberni - The Syrian businessman Abu Faisal Kanou, brother of the deceased artist Mohammed Kanou, who had been residing in Egypt for years, released an emotional farewell message after packing his bags to return to Syria, while some interpreted the message negatively.
After spending 7 years in Egypt managing his restaurant there, Kanou posted a video in which he tearfully bids farewell to Egypt, thanking the Egyptian state and its people, and affirming the workers’ desire to return to Damascus and resume work there.
Kanou expressed his sadness about leaving Egypt and its people, noting that the seven years he spent in the guarded country were filled with good memories and warm human relationships.
While some attempted to interpret his message as leaving due to pressures or government procedures, he quickly posted a second video confirming that he is leaving Egypt by his full will, due to some of his workers wanting to return to Syria.
He continued, saying: "We thank Egypt and the Egyptian people for the warm reception and kindness they have given us, it is hard for me to leave Egypt and this place, and God willing, we will meet in Damascus."
He confirmed that he is leaving Egypt voluntarily and by his full will, denying any harassment, and added: "One who does not thank people does not thank God, thank you from the bottom of my heart as I leave Egypt with my legal residency, I entered honored and I leave honored, and I will head to Syria, and I will surely return to visit Egypt again."
