Khaberni - The name of the Jordanian doctor Hamidan Al-Zioud caught attention after his meeting with King Abdullah II at the Husseiniya Palace, during a gathering of national humanitarian initiative leaders, where His Majesty praised the efforts of those behind these initiatives in serving the community and enhancing the values of solidarity and social cohesion.
Al-Zioud, who has been attending his modest clinic in Hashimia district, Zarqa Governorate for over twenty years, Khaberni, is known as "the doctor of the poor," as he charges only two dinars for a medical check-up, which sometimes includes an ultrasound and some available treatments in his clinic. For patients unable to pay, he provides treatment free of charge.
Al-Zioud commutes daily from his home in Mafraq Governorate to his clinic and does not leave until the last patient has left, Khaberni, content with stepping out only to perform prayers at the nearby mosque. He greets his patients warmly, without inquiring about their financial or social status, providing them with medical care with a humanitarian spirit.
Al-Zioud graduated from a university in Turkey and remained faithful to the medical mission of alleviating patients' suffering. He is also known for accompanying pilgrims annually to provide medical assistance. His clinic sees frequent visitors, with waiting lines often stretching along the main road between Hashimia, Belama, and Irbid.
Insiders confirm that Al-Zioud does not seek fame or recognition but continues his work quietly, adhering to the values of simplicity and humility and serving the people, which has earned him widespread love and significant trust among the residents of the region, becoming a model for individual humanitarian initiatives that reflect the spirit of solidarity in the Jordanian society.
