Khaberni – Samsung Electronics announced today the latest updates to the Galaxy AI feature, as part of its continuous efforts to develop a multi-agent experience providing a rich, smooth, and integrated experience. Galaxy AI is designed based on Samsung's vision aimed at reducing effort and shortening the stages of accomplishing daily tasks, aiming to assist users in enhancing their productivity, and offering them wider choices and greater flexibility and control.
The latest analysis indicates that an increasing number of users rely on a variety of artificial intelligence agents depending on the nature of the required task, which has contributed to making AI technologies a fundamental part of daily life. Research also shows that 8 out of 10 users currently rely on more than two types of AI agents. In line with this shift, Samsung continues to work on developing the Galaxy AI feature to support a selected assortment of integrated AI agents, enabling users to choose experiences that suit their needs, preferences, and lifestyles.
Galaxy AI provides a seamless artificial intelligence experience within the operating system, through deep integration at the framework level in devices and the capability to operate at the system level instead of being confined to use within applications, allowing AI agents to better understand user requests and interact with them naturally.
This approach reduces the need to navigate between applications or repeat commands by enabling the Galaxy AI feature to operate in the background. It also allows Samsung to provide personalized experiences for users, including support services like the Perplexity service, while maintaining a smooth and seamlessly integrated experience within Galaxy devices.
In a comment on this, the President and Chief Operations Officer and Head of the Research and Development Office in the Mobile Experience business at Samsung Electronics, Won-Joon Choi said: "We are committed to building an integrated AI ecosystem that is open and inclusive, and aim to provide users with broader options and greater flexibility and control to carry out complex tasks easily and quickly. Galaxy AI works within this vision to provide a unified and interconnected experience, based on the integration of a variety of artificial intelligence agents."
In the context of its expansion in the multi-agent artificial intelligence ecosystem, Samsung will rely on Perplexity as an additional AI agent in the upcoming generation of flagship Galaxy devices, which users can access using a custom voice alert phrase "Hey Plex", or through quick access tools, such as long-pressing the side button, allowing them to easily get the necessary help when needed. Perplexity agent will be integrated with a selection of Samsung apps, including the notes app, clock, photo gallery, memo, and calendar, as well as many external applications, enabling it to perform multi-step tasks smoothly and allowing users to navigate between tasks fluidly without the need to manage each application separately. This system-level integrated approach provides Galaxy device users with a rich and flexible AI experience.
Samsung continues to focus on providing easy-to-use and accessible experiences through the development of its AI ecosystem and collaboration with trusted partners. Details related to the devices and experiences supported will soon be announced.
