Khaberni - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs confirmed today that it is carefully monitoring the repercussions of the friendly Republic of Iraq's deposit with the United Nations of the coordinates and the map related to the maritime areas between Iraq and the friendly State of Kuwait, and emphasized the necessity of respecting international law and the provisions of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and related agreements signed between the two brotherly countries.
The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, reaffirmed Jordan's steadfast position in supporting the sovereignty of the friendly State of Kuwait over all its territories and maritime areas, its territorial integrity, and its safety.
Al-Majali emphasized the importance of prioritizing the language of dialogue and resolving the dispute based on the rules of international law, respecting the sovereignty of states, and principles of good neighborliness, enhancing brotherly relations between the two countries, safeguarding their interests, and contributing to the consolidation of security and stability in the region.
