Khaberni - Social media was abuzz with accusations against the series "Mulana" for "stealing" from other artistic works, the most prominent of which is the movie "The Lizard", before it finally became clear that the matter involved scenes copied from the Egyptian movie "El Hadk Yafham" starring the late Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.
Social media posts tracked comparisons between scenes from "Mulana" and their counterparts in "The Lizard" and "El Hadk Yafham", especially the presence of the hero in the mosque where he becomes confused due to his ignorance of prayer fundamentals, before his eyes fall on a religiously inscribed plaque on the wall of the mosque in front of him, leading him into a state of devoutness with a cut-and-paste process.
These works bear similarity with the hero posing as a religious man after accompanying him on a trip to his village, a plot also seen in the movie Guns for San Sebastian (1968) by Anthony Quinn, where the hero generates a rebellion in the village after its people believe in the blessings he fortuitously provides.
It is worth mentioning that the series "Mulana" includes several Syrian stars, notably: Mona Wassef, Tim Hassan as "Jaber", Noor Ali, Fares Al Helou, Nancy Khoury, Alaa Al Zouabi, Hima Ismail, Gaith Ramadan, Iliana Saad, and is written by Lubna Haddad, directed by Samer Al Barqawi, and produced by "Sabbah Brothers".
