Khaberni - The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship announced the launch of the website for the registry of Data Protection Officers, Processors, and Supervisors on a trial basis.
The Ministry invited private sector companies and institutions to take the initiative to register and comply with the relevant legal requirements, which enhances digital trust and protects the privacy of individuals' data.
The Ministry confirmed that the launch of the registry is based on the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Law No. (24) of 2023, particularly article (18/d), with the aim of enabling oversight of data processing operations and ensuring compliance of entities dealing with personal data with approved legal and regulatory standards, including private companies and various institutions that process user data.
The Ministry explained that data processing officers are required to update and amend the registry information within a maximum period of 30 days from the start of actual processing, noting that registration ensures compliance of the entities with instructions from the registry of Data Protection Officers, Processors, and Supervisors, enhancing the level of governance and privacy protection within a safe and trusted digital environment.
The Ministry invited the relevant authorities to begin the registration procedures and document the data processing operations and the details of the officers and supervisors.
The Ministry indicated that the support team is ready to answer inquiries and provide the necessary support through the government contact center at 06500508080 as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance digital compliance and establish trust in the national digital economy.
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the development of the personal data protection system in the Kingdom, aligning with international best practices and supporting the journey towards secure digital transformation.
