Khaberni - The UAE has affirmed its full and steadfast solidarity with the State of Kuwait in all measures it takes to protect its rights and legitimate interests, reaffirming its support alongside Kuwait against any encroachment on its sovereignty or national interests.
It also emphasized that it follows with great concern and disapproval the contents of the lists of coordinates and the map submitted by the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations, and the potential implications of these for the rights of the State of Kuwait over its territories and maritime waters, including "Fasht al-Aij" and "Fasht al-Qaid".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a release the importance of the Republic of Iraq considering the fraternal and historical relations that unite the two countries and their brotherly peoples, and to handle this matter with a spirit of responsibility and seriousness, in accordance with the rules and principles of international law, and the provisions of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, in line with understandings, agreements, and bilateral memoranda of understanding. The ministry also called for addressing any related issues through constructive dialogue and diplomatic channels, to enhance security and stability in the region.
